Press Release

Tokyo, April 3, 2023 – ZIPAIR Tokyo celebrated the launch of its first carbon neutral flight between Tokyo Narita=Honolulu on April 1 becoming the first international airline to commit to offset its emissions on every flight to/from Honolulu throughout the year. “Today marks the beginning of a new era as we are the first to make an ongoing commitment to operate carbon neutral flights between Narita and Honolulu. Reducing CO2 emissions is a crucial and important challenge for the aviation industry. We believe we have taken the first step by offsetting all emissions on our service to/from Honolulu, as well as promoting SAF on each of our flights,” said Shingo Nishida, President of ZIPAIR Tokyo. “Hawaiʻi is known for its commitment to culture and protecting the natural environment. We strongly believe that we must do our part to care for, protect and preserve the environment, which is in line with the Mālama Hawaiʻi Program.” Passengers on the first flight received a carbon neutral flight certificate and a ZIPAIR Eco-bag to celebrate the celebratory occasion.

ZIPAIR will continue to proactively promote sustainability to create new values and offering a new standard for the aviation industry.
