Regarding seating

Seats can be selected up to 24 hours prior to departure, however, a separate charge will apply. We accept reservations for emergency exit seats and seats in the first row up to 48 hours before departure. We recommend using this service if you have a preferred seat or would like to sit with someone.
Passengers who have not selected a seat in advance will have their seats assigned 24 hours prior to departure via the automatic check-in process.
Please understand that it is not possible to change your seat within 24 hours of departure even at the airport check-in counter.
Seats can be selected in advance via our website (desktop or mobile site) or via our contact center.
However, an extra handling fee will be applied when using this service through our contact center. We, therefore, recommend booking online.

Seating Types

ZIPAIR provides two different types of seating: a premium ZIP Full-Flat seat or a Standard seat.
There is one type of ZIP Full-Flat Seat and five types of Standard seats available. Fees for selecting seats in advance differ according to theclassification.

Baby Safety Seats

ZIPAIR provides baby safety seats for infants between 0 to 1 year of age, free of charge.
Seating areas will be designated and the baby safety seat will be installed in advance.

  • * Passengers may not use their own child seats.
  • * For safety reasons, the following restrictions are in place for children weighing less than 9 kg. Reservations cannot be made online. Please call our Contact Center.
  • * The baby safety seat must be installed facing backward. There are only a limited number of seats that allow for this.
    * If there are no seats available that allow for the safety seat to be installed backward, the accompanying adult will need to reserve their own seat, then hold the infant on their lap.

Passengers may not switch seats onboard

Please note that you are required to sit in your designated seat. Passengers are forbidden from switching seats.

Limits on emergency exit row seats

To protect the safety of all of our passengers, only passengers who meet all of the following requirements may sit in the emergency exit row seats.

  • Must be at least 15 years and above(passengers younger than 15 years of age may not choose to sit in emergency exit row seats)
  • The passenger does not require assistance from an accompanying person or from the cabin crew when boarding.
  • The passenger must be capable of opening or closing the aircraft door and of assisting others to escape in an emergency.
  • The passenger must be capable of understanding escape procedures and crew members’ instructions and also of communicating these instructions verbally to other passengers.
  • The passenger does not require assistance from an accompanying person during an emergency escape*
  • The individual must agree to assist others to escape in an emergency.
  • Passengers for whom points - 1 to 6 do not apply will not be permitted to sit in the emergency exit row seats even if they have selected a seat in this area in advance. They will be required to move to a different seat.
  • In order to ensure a swift escape during the unlikely event of an emergency, cabin crew may require passengers seated in the exit row to assist.
  • Passengers in these seats cannot have baggage/bulky items on their knees or at their feet during takeoff and landing.
  • * Passengers who are accompanying a passenger younger than 15 years are not permitted to sit in the exit row.

Selecting seats with U6 Standard fares

Children between the age group of 0 to 6 must be seated next to their accompanying adult.

  • * Seats for children aged 0 to 6, as well as a seat for one accompanying adult, can be selected free of charge ahead of time.
  • * However, this only applies if the child and the accompanying adult's seats are selected at the same time. If these are selected separately, the typical seat selection fee will apply.
  • * Children between the age group of 0 to 6 are required to sit next to an accompanying adult.
  • * Please understand that reservations cannot be made for children if there are no empty seats that allow the child and accompanying adult to sit together.
